Dog Trainer
We are ready to expand our operation to include dog training and are seeking an experienced professional trainer to join our team! Our ideal candidate would have experience with group play as well as individual and group dog training. This position is in development therefore would be a flex position involving dog training programs as well as helping in daycare and the kennel. Our goal programs would include: Puppy Program, Daycare Training, and Board and Train modules.
We are a moderately sized facility that is seasonally very busy but also benefits from a solid regular client base the rest of the year round. Our clients are the best and are always recommending us to friends, family, and guests. Attention to detail and excellent customer service to ensure the best experience for our guests is paramount. We depend on our staff to maintain the trust and integrity we have worked so hard to foster with both our human and fur clients by providing a high end and exceptional experience. We have a small team, so dynamics are of the utmost importance in order to keep our facility running smoothly.
Qualifications
CPDT-KA certification with work experience and references
Knowledge of canine behavior, R+ training methologies and dog handling techniques
Be comfortable working with all sizes of dogs, and willing to work with dogs who occasionally require specific handling.
Excellent customer service and communication skills
Ability to stand, squat, stoop, bend, lift at least 50lbs, walk, stand for the entire shift and handle strong jobs
Willingness to maintain high standards of cleanliness, including mopping, scrubbing, cleaning poop, vomit and any other necessity
Must be willing to work outside in all weather as needed.
Responsibilities
*Utilize R+ training techniques.
*Develop and implement training programs tailored to program goals and individual dogs.
*Conduct one-on-one training sessions and communicate progress to owners along with report cards and training packets.
*Maintain a safe and clean environment for dogs.
*Assist daycare staff as needed including shift work in playgroups and kennel.

Shift:
In general this position in envisioned as Monday - Friday, 8am - 5pm, however there may be additional shifts/times needed

Kennel Staff
Supervising dog play groups
General care of overnight guests, including feeding & dispensing medications
Cleaning, both indoors and out
Customer Service
Working well with a team of Awesome people
Ideal candidate will be hard working, enthusiastic and interested in learning as much as possible about dog body language, play styles and psychology. We will train the right person, however people with previous horse and/or dog experience are encouraged to apply.
Our shifts are generally 9 – 6:30pm with a 1 hour lunch break, 1 – 6:30pm or 3 – 6:30pm. We have both full and part time positions available, as well as summer seasonal.
Applicants must be at least 16 years of age, with reliable transportation and strong work ethic.
